Become a Certified Solo Flyer! 9 Tandem Flights Over 1,000 Feet!

After successful completion of the Level I course, you are ready for Level II. This course is your continuation into the world of modern hang gliding. You will perfect the skills learned in Level I, in preparation for solo flight. All flights will be tandem with a USHGA certified instructor.

As in Level I, you will launch the hang glider; fly the glider on and off tow; and then land the glider in the water. But now, you will be in control, under the supervision of the instructor. Upon successful demonstration of the necessary skills, and an evaluation by the instructor, you will be prepared for solo flight.

In the most advanced training program hang gliding has to offer, you will learn how to launch, fly and land a hang glider over Biscayne Bay with a USHGA certified instructor.

At the end of level II, you will have the opportunity to take a test that will certify you for the solo flight. Any incorrect answers will be fully explained by an instructor.

Hang gliders are controlled by shifting the pilot's weight with respect to the glider. Pilots are suspended from a hang strap connected to the glider's frame (hence the name "hang" glider). By moving forward and backward and side to side at the end of this hang strap, the pilot alters the center of gravity of the glider. This then causes the glider to pitch or roll in the direction of the pilot's motion and thus allows both speed control and turning.

Our instructors are certified for airworthiness by the Hang Glider Manufacturers Assn. (HGMA). Also, hang gliding instruction has been standardized and students learn from certified instructors using a thorough gradual training program.

Level II Hangliding Program Sightseeing and Highlights Include:

• Nine tandem flights with a certified tandem instructor to an altitude of over 1,000 feet
• A friend may ride on the boat free of charge
• Simulated in-flight training lessons on basic weight shift control of the hang glider
• A training video is available for viewing

This tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for NO SHOWS. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.

Bring swimsuit, sunscreen and towel

Recommended for all tours in Miami: Comfortable shoes, extra layer of warm clothing, hats, visors and sunglasses.

Weather: Tour route or activity may be changed depending on local weather conditions.
